What is Medina Mayrit?
Medina Mayrit is an urban oasis in the heart of Madrid. Throughout our Arabic Baths, our Restaurant, our Team Room and Bazaar recover the magic of Al Andalus period through an authentic fusion of sensations. Crossing the door, the whole daily stress and tension will be eased away.
What is the origin of Medina Mayrit?
The Baths of Medina Mayrit are located under a structure of hundreds of years. 'Medina Mayrit' (City of Madrid) is the denomination that Al Andalus used to name the enclave belonging to the Kingdom of Toledo. Used as weell served as point of meeting for the different cultures. This small enclave was occupying the adjacent area to the Almudaina (current Cathedral of the Almudena) and Jacinto Benavente was surrounded with wall with a small extension up to the Square, where today Medina Mayrit is and where Arab ancient baths could exist
Is that necessary Booking?
Yes. The easier and rapid way is to do an online reservation through our web page. Also, it can be done calling to our reservations phone number 902 333 334. In restaurant, we recommend to make a reservation on weekends or to have dinner.
When can a reservation be done
It depends on the required service, the day and the hour shift chosen. For a bath or bath with massage normally it’s enough booking with 2 or 3 days in advance. Regarding "Packs" that mix baths and restaurant better booking with 1 week in advance; except for "The thousand and one nights". For this service, clients must do a reservation with 2 or 3 months in advance (those interested in Friday or Saturday night).
What happens if I cannot come in the booked day?
Calling to the information and reservations phone number (902 333 334) 48hours before, the reservation may be cancelled or modified without penalization. Done in the last 48 hours, the cancellation implies that you would lose 100 % of the amount of the reservation. In case of a simple change, you would lose 50 % of the entire amount. For groups of 10 or more people, cancellations or modifications have a 5 days delay period (before the booked day).
What is necessary to bring?
You only need your swimsuit or bikini (you must have a proper swinsuit). Your personal footwear is restricted to wardrobe, once you enter to the Hammam you must be barefooted. The bathcap is not necessary, but long air must be gathered.

We provide you with towels. Besides, in the wardrobes you may find gel, shampoo, hairdrier and boxes where to keep personal objects.
How is the Hammam circuit?
During 90 minutes, enjoy the circuit as you prefer. For a complete Hammam experience we recommend the Steam Room and the restroom where you may have a cup of tea from our tea source During 1 hour and 30 minutes, you may enjoy the circuit as you prefer, included the required massage. The Hammam has three water pools: warm (36ºC), heat (40ºC) and cold (17ºC). For a complete Hammam experience we recommend the Steam Room and the restroom where you may have a cup of tea from our tea source. Visit the Hammam on a "video"virtual tour
How is the hygiene guaranteed in the facilities?
Every morning, before its aperture, the Hamman is exhaustively cleaned. Also, between every shift, a 30 minutes cleanness and disinfection is done again all over the facilities. The water of the swimming pools is constantly cleaned with a purifying system. We do not use Chlorine, instead we use bromine.
What kind of additional services may I find?
Besides the bath circuit, you may ask for a relaxing massage with aromatherapy choosing between a 15 minutes or a 30 minutes one. Also, you may prefer an exfoliating massage of 15 minutes, done with a “glove of horse mane” or a mixture of both massage. Furthermore, come to our Restaurant and enjoy a Dinner with dance exhibition, taste our tea in the tearoom or buy some bazaar products.
What is your Restaurant Cuisine like?
Our chef, Isabel Omar, has been recovering the old recipes of “Flavours of Al Andalus”. We specially recommend Aubergine with sugar cane Honey, Couscous Mayrit with Vegetables, raisins and confit Onion, Salmorejo (Andalusí typical dish), Tajine of lamb with plums and apricots, Stuffed Codfish with nuts and steamed aromatic herbs, Taboulé Lebanese style. Every night, the dinner is complemented with a Belly dance exhibition.
